TINNED FOOD: All you should know before buying, tinned food:

  • Be chossy, of the places you buy.In the first place observe that the grocer treats the tins with care, and that they are not placed in the sun or near heat.
  • See the date written en the tag.
  • The tins should be handled with care for if they are banged the varnish that protects them inside may come off.
  • Once bougth the tins should be put in a dry cupboard not near heat or the sun. There is no need to refrigerate the tins.
  • It is recommended to buy tins of a recognised brand. Especially for tin fish.
  • If you should have high blood pressure, be careful with canned food, because they contain high level of salt to preserve them.
  • When you open a tin it is best to put it in a sieve and leave it a few minutes with cold water. If you look carefully you will see foam, and dull fluids, which are put to preserve the food, they are harmless, but it is best to eliminate them.
  • If you wish to cat canned fish, but you do not want to loose your figure.
  • You must get rid of the oil.
  • Finally if you should have any doubt it is better not to consume it.
